Abstract

1502206 Full-face disc brakes KIENZLE UHRENFABRIKEN GmbH 25 June 1976 [1 Sept 1975] 26453/76 Heading F2E [Also in Division G3] To eliminate backlash in a gear train driven at constant speed by a motor 1 and driving, e.g., a chart-recorder, a friction plate 11 is coupled to the final gear 8 of the train and is allowed to rotate only through a limited angle by means of stops, and a tension spring 13 is connected between the friction plate and the fixed framework to provide a reverse torque on the gear 8 in one direction of rotation thereof. Unlimited reverse motion of the train is thus possible during manual setting of the mechanism by means of a knob 10, without losing the backlasheliminating effect of spring 13. The stops are provided by the end walls of a slot 16 which receives a peg 15 on an arm 12 of the friction plate. The latter is pressed against the gear 8 by a thrust spring 17.
