Abstract

1500142 Tyre building apparatus DUNLOP Ltd 18 March 1975 [19 March 1974] 11134/75 Addition to 1485144 Heading B7C Apparatus substantially identical with that disclosed in parent Specification further includes tread support rings 16 coaxial with the annular members 1, 2 and axially movable between retracted and tread abutting positions. In operation, after building a breaker and tread assembly (Fig. 2) the coils 4 are de-energized, and members 1, 2 are moved away from each other to breaker edge supporting positions (Fig. 3) and the coils 4 are again energized to support the breaker during shaping of carcass 14 into engagement with the assembly. Finally the coils are de-energized and the members 1, 2 and rings 16 are moved to their inoperative positions (Fig. 4, not shown)
