Abstract

1497794 Endless conveyers STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERIES (HOLDINGS) Ltd 28 Nov 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 46162/74 Heading B8A Ceramic flat ware articles are sprayed on one side, then inverted, and sprayed on the other side, in a plant for spray coating such ware, Fig. 1 (not shown), the apparatus for inverting an article of flat ware comprising a first conveyer 26 which conveys the articles with their bottoms up as shown in Fig. 2, and as each article passes over the end of the conveyer 26 it tilts, such tilting being assisted by jets 43, 46 of compressed air from nozzles 40, 44 respectively, so that each article is swept beyond its vertical position to fall in a inverted condition on to a second conveyer 50 made of resilient material. A tilt rod or roller 34 which is positioned at the end of conveyer 26 assists in the tilting of each article.
