Abstract
1497415 Loading ships; spiral endless belt and shoot conveyers FORDERTECHNIK HAMBURG HARRY LASSIG KG 30 Dec 1974 [26 Jan 1974] 56068/74 Headings B8E B8A and B8S Apparatus for loading or unloading a ship with discrete goods or bulk cargo comprises a portal 10, running on a quay, having a vertically adjustable beam 12 containing a belt conveyer 30 fed by a feed conveyer 31 on the portal 10. The free end of the boom supports a vertical conveyer 15 comprising a tube 35 fixed to a platform 38 and a cylindrical support 37 between which is mounted an endless helical belt conveyer 14 passing over guide and driven rollers and having its edges running in guide members on the support 37 and tube 35. Rollers carried by the conveyer may alternatively roll in profiled rails. The motor to drive the conveyer may be in the tube 35. A non-driven helical shoot 46 is mounted on a tube 45 a transfer roller being provided between the conveyer and shoot. The tube 45 can be inserted in the tube 35 and by interengaging projections 60, 61 can be turned and extended below the conveyer 14 to adjust the height of the point of discharge. Either the tube 35 or the support 37 may be of open construction to give access to the conveyer. If the support 37 is solid it may have an insulating layer or include refrigerating elements.
