Abstract
1491968 Spray carburetters NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 2 May 1975 [2 May 1974] 18388/75 Heading F1H The idling and slow-running system 31 communicates with the main system 20 and a valve 46, 48 is closed to prevent communication between the main system and induction passage ports 34, 38 of the idling system at least when an associated engine is operating at high speed and load. The poppet valve 46 in the embodiment shown is connected to a diaphragm 50a subject to the vacuum in the Venturi 14. The diaphragm 50a may open a switch (62), Fig. 2(not shown), in the circuit of a solenoid valve (60) which engages the seat 48 when de-energized. The seat 48 may be located in the passage 28 downstream of the air and fuel jets 29, 30. The switch (62'), Fig. 3 (not shown), may be opened by a lever (70) on the throttle shaft 44 when the throttle valve 42 is almost fully open. The lever (70), Fig. 4 (not shown), may move a valve (76) to seat on the jet 30. The circuits of the solenoids (60), Fig. 2 and 3, may be opened in response to opening of the engine ignition switch to prevent engine running- on.
