Abstract

1488845 Mixing fluids in flow DEMAG KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GmbH 28 Nov 1974 [24 Dec 1973] 51607/74 Heading B1C A flowing liquid under pressure is charged with gas from a source under a pressure in excess of twice the liquid pressure, and controlled so that the gas pressure at the control device is at least twice the liquid pressure. As shown the liquid flows in a pipeline 10 and the gas from a supply 2 passes through a pressure reducing valve 7 and adjustable throttle 1, the valve 7 being controlled by the liquid line pressure through line 12. A pressure relief valve 18 enables rate of flow from the gas source to be maintained constant during periods when it is not actually being supplied to line 10, by closing valve 14 and opening valve 17. The gas and liquid are mixed in a flow mixer 11. A flowmeter 23 is provided for calibrating the apparatus.
