1484946 Logic NAIGAI INDUSTRIES Inc 19 Aug 1974 [13 Sept 1973 29 Nov 1973] 36334/74 Heading G4H A logic circuit includes a plurality of unit circuits each comprising a NAND element having at least two input terminals and an inverter element connected to one input of the NAND element, the unit circuits being mounted on identical circuit boards and being interconnected in one of only two modes, wherein in one of the two modes the outputs of two unit circuits are connected to one another such that the two unit circuits are equivalent to two contact relays connected with their contacts in parallel and in the second mode the output from the NAND element of one unit circuit is connected to the inverter at the input of the NAND element of the second unit circuit such that the two unit circuits are equivalent to two contact relays connected with their contacts in series. The other input of each NAND corresponds to the coil of the relay and may include an inverter in series with it. A multi-contact relay is simulated by having the second-mentioned inputs to the NANDs connected in common, this common connection between supplied by a parallel circuit of two branches with one inverter in one branch and two inverters in series in the other branch, one branch or the other being used according as normally-open or normally-closed contacts are to be simulated. Terminals may be provided permitting connections to be inserted in use to give normally-closed or normally-open operation for all the NANDs or some normallyclosed and some normally-open, as desired. A capacitor may be inserted for delayed operation. The circuitry is implemented in integrated form on a stack of circuit boards which are interconnected. Each board simulates two (or one) multi-contact relays and includes a D.C. stabilized power supply circuit. Each board has indicators (LEDs) for the power supply and relay-analogues. An external mechanical switch may control the logic circuit via an interface circuit to eliminate contact chatter, the logic circuit controlling a relay, lamp, TRIAC or A.C. circuit, via an amplifier/driver.
