1481426 Selective printing PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 9 Aug 1974 [14 Aug 1973] 35191/74 Heading B6F A selective printer comprises a type wheel 1 rotatable about a first axis 9 which is itself rotatable about a second axis 7 to permit cycloidal paths of movement of the type characters 2 on the type wheel, the type wheel being driven by a first drive input from a motor 15 to a sun-gear 4 meshing with gearing 3 on the type wheel, and the axis 9 being mounted on an arm 8 driven about axis 7 by a motor 10. The motor 10 thus effects impression movement of the type wheel, while a motor 15 rotates the type wheel for character selection.
