Abstract

1476653 Receiver headband arrangement AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO - GERATE GmbH 24 May 1974 [1 June 1973] 23470/74 Heading H4J A headset comprises a headband 6, Fig. 1, which in use bears via a central portion against the top of the user's head 1 and which is coupled to the respective earpieces 4, 5, by a connecting arrangement 7-10 which is resiliently deformable along the line of connection to permit adjustment of the length of the connecting arrangement for a predetermined range of head sizes, the connecting arrangement applying to its earpiece a vertical force at least equal to that of gravity on the earpiece and its cable. The headband may be resiliently flexible and inextensible, or the harness may comprise the combination of such a band with a flexible extensible band 12 (Fig. 2) the band 12 engaging a sliding coupling 18 coupling it to a metal frame 16 not in contact with the head; and to which is attached an earpiece coupling 15, the arrangement in use, applying inward pressure and introducing friction whereby the earpieces are retained in a placed position. The frame 16 may comprise two separate wires 24 between which a stud 21 attached to the extensible band, may slide, the stud being connected to the coupling 15 by an elastic loop 24 or a helical spring.
