Abstract

1466656 Finned heat exchanger tubes UNITED STIRLING (SWEDEN) AB & CO KB 13 Nov 1975 46825/75 Heading F4S Fins 2 extending laterally from a heat exchanger tube 1 are formed by a pleated strip shaped so that in the transverse cross-section of the finned tube (Fig. 1) each fin 2 embraces approximately half the tube circumference, the fin edges being cut at an angle so that (a) the fin is of increasing width in the direction in which it extends laterally from the tube, and (b) the minimum width of the fin (i.e. at the bend portions 3) is larger than the outside diameter of the tube by less than 25% of the said outside diameter.
