Teeth. artificial.-A porcelain tooth having a T. shaped groove b, d is secured to the plate by means of a screw pin i, the head f of which compresses a flexible washer g arranged in the enlarged portion b of the groove. If a squareheaded pin f<1> is used the tooth is secured by means of a conical nut m fitting in a coned hole l formed in the plate h. In a modification, the tooth is cut away diagonally at the biting edge and the metal plate is correspondingly extended so that the bite comes on the plate. The tooth may have a vertical groove coinciding with a corresponding slot in a backing plate secured to the tooth by flanges engaging lateral acute-angled or rectangular grooves in the tooth. The washer g may be replaced by a plate u which is as wide as the groove b and which has a vertical slot v the edges v<1> of which extend into the groove d.
