Abstract

1452681 Thermocouples SANGAMO WESTON Ltd 3 March 1975 [4 March 1974] 9649/74 Heading H1K A thermocouple element has a relatively large cross-section portion 10 and a relatively small cross-section portion 12 surrounded by a rigid sheath 14, and a support mounted on the small cross-section portion 12 such that it is incapable of movement relative to the thermocouple element but slides on the inner surface of the sheath 14 thereby permitting the thermocouple element to slide within the sheath. The support may consist of one or more ferrules 18, spider elements or crossed apertured arms and may be detachably or permanently secured to the thermocouple element, e.g. by brazing. The sheath 14 has apertures 15 for gas circulation.
