Abstract

1451811 Swivel joints J D FREDENHAM and G FURST [trading as MODERN LIGHTING CO] 4 Dec 1974 [6 Sept 1973] 41987/73 Heading E2F In a swivel joint suitable for table lamps, a casing 10 is provided with a cylindrical bore 11 housing a cylindrical bearing member 24, the bearing member having an annular circumferential groove 30 into which projects a radial pin 32, carried by the casing 10, which engages a radially extending abutment formed by a stop screw 34 so as to limit the relative angular movement between the bearing member and the housing. The other end of the casing houses a ball-ended member 16 having a cylindrical bore therein. The casing 10 has a part-spherical seat at one end against which the ball end 14 is held by an annular pad which is biassed against the ball end by a spring retained by the swivel bearing.
