Abstract

1447203 Copolymers of N-methylolacrylamides ROHM GmbH 17 Jan 1975 [19 Jan 1974] 2163/74 Heading C3P An aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of N-methylol acrylamide or methacrylamide is produced by an emulsion polymerization process in which the monomers which include 0À1-10% of the N-methylol acrylamide are introduced gradually but in such a way that at least 70% of the N-methylol acrylamide, and preferably all, is introduced with the first 50%, preferably 25%, of the total monomers. In examples, other monomers used are n-butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, styrene, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, vinylidene chloride, vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, methacrylamide.
