Abstract

1442555 Winding webs JAGENBERG-WERKE AG 11 Dec 1974 [11 Dec 1973] 53669/74 Heading B8R [Also in Division B4] A machine for slitting and winding up material 1, e.g.: of paper, in web form comprises a plurality of winding spindles 8, 9 located opposite a backing roller 7 and journalled in bearings 10 which are movable outwards on substantially horizontal guides 11 as the diameter of the winding rolls increases, the guides being movable to effect lowering of the finished wound rolls. The guides 11 are mounted on brackets 12 which are pivotally mounted on supports 14; the brackets are adjustably mounted on shafts 15 in order to suit different widths of web. The web 1 is fed over guide rollers 2, 3 and a width stretching roller 4, past cooperating disc cutters 5, 6 and over the backing roller 7, one portion of the slit web then being wound onto the roller 8 and the other slit portion wound onto the roller 9. When either roll reaches the required diameter, the respective bracket 12 is lowered by means of a ram 16 to bring the roll into its lowered position for removal.
