Abstract
1437655 Recirculating flush-closet PURE WAY CORP 23 July 1974 32587/74 Heading E1C Toilet waste is discharged into a tank 15 and is arranged to pass through a bed 16 of activated charcoal wherein biological action takes place before the purified liquid is passed via conduit 28 to a cistern 29 for flushing the closet bowl 13 and an overflow 37 in the cistern discharges into a disinfectant tank 40. The tank 15 has a baffle 17 projecting into the charcoal 16 and an overflow 26a to a tank 27 wherein a float-activated switch 30 controls a pump 28a in the conduit 28. The charcoal is embedded between gravel layers 16a and may be flushed by a liquid back-flow produced by discharging the cistern 29 either via pipe 53 whilst closing overflow 26a or via pipe 50 to jets 51a. A macerator 20 may include various arrangements of rubher coated or balloon-like rollers, Figs. 2-3c (not shown) and is activated by a float operated switch 70. Liquid in tank 40 is disinfected with chlorine from dispenser 41 and then overflows into tank 43 where a switch 44 controls outlet valve 45. Bacterial tablets are introduced into tank 15 by the flush mechanism.
