Abstract

1436968 Two part backrest LA-Z-BOY CHAIR CO 4 Jan 1974 [12 Jan 1973] 00420/74 Heading A4J In a recliner chair having movably interconnected seat and backrests, a backrest section 61 is stored in a retracted position within the main backrest when the chair is in the upright position and is automatically moved to an extended position above the main backrest as the chair is reclined by connecting the backrest section through links 67, 69 to the main backrest and through a rod 78 connected at its upper end to link 67 and at its lower end to a transverse rod inter-connecting two bell-cranks 24 pivotally connected to the sides of the seat. Link 67 is provided with a roller 74 supporting the upper end of rod 78 and travelling in a slot 75 in the main backrest.
