Abstract

1435452 Magnetic storage devices ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 20 May 1974 [2 July 1973] 22365/74 Heading H3B In order to suppress the formation of "hard" bubble domains in a layer 13 of bubble domain material supported on a substrate 11, a suppression layer 12 is provided contiguous to the layer 13, this suppression layer having sufficient anisotropy to establish a net moment of magnetization substantially parallel to the layer 13. A "hard" bubble domain is one that has a low mobility, propagates at an angle to the applied bias field gradients, and can exist over a range of bias field values of up to 30 Oersted. Layer 13 may be sandwiched between layers 11 and 12, Fig. 4 (not shown).
