Abstract

1417098 Bearings; belt tensioning devices SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 31 Jan 1973 [1 Feb 1972] 4923/73 Headings F2A and F2Q A roller, e.g. for tensioning toothed belt drives, comprises a rolling bearing 1, and a sheet metal member 6 extending around the circumference of the radially outer surface of the outer race of the bearing, and having a first, radially inner limb 8 in abutment with said surface and extending axially thereon, a second limb parallel to and radially outwardly of the first limb and an end wall extending from one end of one limb to the adjacent end of the other limb, therebeing means 11 to locate the member on the outer race. The limb 8 may be provided with tongues 9, so that a plastics ring 10, which is injected after the member 6 has been fitted to the outer race, cannot be released from the member 6. A bush 4 disposed in the inner race bore is formed with an eccentric bore 12 to receive a spindle, and with an axial extension having a hexagonal cross-section so that the belt tension can be adjusted.
