Abstract

1413868 Cinematograph film SINGER CO 13 July 1973 [17 July 1972] 33417/73 Heading G2E [Also in Division H4] To prevent half-framing of a continuously moved cine film with respect to a flying spot scanner 15 in a television image generator, on start-up, the film is printed with an opaque area 29 between the two sprocket holes associated with each frame which is detected during retrace of the scanner by deflecting 16 the scanning spot to scan the sprocket hole area, the resulting rectangular pulses each corresponding to the distance between two adjacent opaque areas being fed to control 23 the scanner. The film gate used to expose the film during printing is provided with a small opening adjacent the conventional opening Fig.3 (not shown).
