Abstract

1409505 Mixing apparatus CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 5 Oct 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 46606/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for mixing liquids according to a predetermined concentration gradient comprises a pile of identical horizontally arranged plates 3 with closed slots, the plates being relatively slidably adjustable on a base plate 4 having a vertical partitioning member 5 which divides the space defined by the aggregate of the slots into two liquid holding chambers 1, 2, discharge ports 6 for the two chambers provided in the base plate and connected to a device 8a ... d for equalising the levels of liquid in the two chambers and for mixing the liquids discharged therefrom, the plates 3, chambers 1, 2 etc. being vertically adjustable with respect to the device 8a ... d to cause discharge of liquids to said device. The plates are clamped together in the desired relative position by clamping means 9a, c. The mixing device may incorporate a rotary vertical stirrer 8d. In alternative forms of the plates (Figs 5a-5d not shown) there are provided two or more slots, each subdivided into two chambers by a vertical partitioning member.
