Abstract

1405477 Treatment chambers PIELKENROOD VINITEX BV 20 Oct 1972 [31 Oct 1971] 48380/72 Heading A5R [Also in Division F4] A treatment chamber comprises an airpervious top wall 3 supported on a framework side walls 5 and a raised floor 8 having a suction channel 22, therein which communicates with the chamber through openings 42 in the sides of the floor, a suction unit 40 being connected to the channel by hose. 41 for extracting air from the chamber and including a filter for removing bacteria from the out flowing air. Air may be fed into the chamber by a blower through a filter box 3. Preferably the side walls 5 comprise plastics curtains suspended from rollers carried by tracks 11, and boards 43 extend upwardly beyond ,the lower edges of the curtains, so that outflow of air from the chamber is prevented by air drawn in through gaps 6. Outflow of air at the tops of the curtains is prevented by baffles (46, 14, not shown), located on each side of the curtains, openings in the tracks 11 communicating with the channel 22 and suction unit 40. Disinfectant is introduced into the chamber through sprinkler ducts 21. A transfer cabinet 16 communicates with the chamber through opening 18 so that a patient can be attended to or articles transferred into the chamber. The cabinet may have a blower unit with a filter 17.
