1395138 Welding by pressure; brazing PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 55931/73 Heading B3R [Also in Divisions C7 and H1] In making a rotatable anode for an X-ray tube a target area disc of a W-Re-Ta alloy (see Division C7) is joined to a disc made mainly of Mo by applying a single blow of large energy content to the discs between plane die blocks in the cold. The target area may be brazed to a carbon or graphite body.
