Abstract
1391038 Inductors; coils; printed circuits BENDIX CORP 26 March 1973 [31 March 1972] 14468/73 Headings H1T H1R and H1P An inductor comprises a continuous flexible substrate 4 bearing conductive patterns 16-21 on both sides, with connections through holes 10, the substrate being rolled up on arbor 25 so that locating tabs 22 are aligned with pins 28 through holes 24 leaving spaces between the windings which are filled up with insulating material by impregnation of the roll. The substrate may be a suitable polyamide plastic. The circuit patterns may be formed by bonding copper strip to the substrate and photoetching. The said connections may be made by plating the holes 10 with copper. The connections are as shown in Fig. 4 this pattern being repeated along the substrate to form a continuous circuit. The assembly is then removed from the arbor, vacuum impregnated, has tabs 20 removed and is machined.
