Abstract

1390796 Stud and socket fastenings K KOPPEL 10 Oct 1972 46586/72 Heading E2B A snap fastener socket comprises a base, a plastics member having two portions 26 defining between them an opening 24 and movable resiliently in the plane of the member to enlarge the opening, and retaining means adapted upon assembly of the socket, to retain the plastics member on the base without obscuring the opening. As shown, the metal base has projections 10 for mounting the socket on an article and lugs 12, 14 to locate the plastics member which is formed with recesses 16 for reception of the lugs 12. A metal cover, which may be dished to support the portions 26, having an aperture 22 is disposed over the plastics member and the rim 18 thereof is crimped into engagement with the base; the cover may be replaced by one or more bendable projections or tags on the base.
