Baths.-A thrust bearing comprising a number of shoes 33 secured to or integral with a ring 32 which is sufficiently flexible to allow the shoes to tilt in a tangential and radial direction in order to maintain a film of oil between the bearing surfaces, is immersed in an oil bath and is surrounded by a baffle-plate 29. The ring is supported on adjusting-screws 22 or on springs placed either beneath the shoes or between them.
