Abstract
1388275 Casings SIEMENS AG 24 March 1972 [3 April 1971] 13990/72 Heading H1N In an arrangement for providing electrical outlets below floor level, sockets 21 are mounted on one side wall 20 of a trough which is attached to a square structure 13 having a hinged lid 19. The structure 13 is fixed to the upper part 5 of a frame 1 of which the base 2 is let into the floor and has passages 3 for conduits. The upper part 5 is adjustable to floor level by means of levelling screws (7, Fig. 4, not shown), which are lockable by further screws 10. The structure 13 is adjustable to the level of a carpet (not shown) by means of levelling screws 15a. A removable cover 28 gives access to a space, between the wall 24 of the trough and the base 2, in which terminals (27, Fig. 3, not shown) for telephone wiring are mounted. Leads 39a pass to these terminals (27) through channels 42 in a rubber block 38, on which the lid 19 rests when closed. Leads 32 pass through slots 34 in the frame 14, slots 35 in the lid 19, and guides 31 in the cover 28 to plugs 33. A magnet 37 and an iron body in the lid 19 hold the lid closed. If no telephone leads 39a are present the rubber block 38 can be turned over (Fig. 5, not shown) so that the channels 42 do not admit dirt or moisture.
