Abstract

1383829 Endless slot-type conveyers UNIVERSAL CONVEYER CO Ltd 9 May 1973 [26 April 1972] 19244/72 Heading B8A Slats 1 of an endless conveyer are upwardly turned at leading and trailing ends 1b, and at adjacent ends of successive slats, are covered by an inverted channel member 4 to provide a seal at the joint of the slats. The member 4 is retained resiliently a member 5 and spring 7. Side wall portions 10 are welded to each side of each slat, and co-operate with similar wall portions 11 welded to the members 4. Inverted channel members 9 are also secured to each side of each slat and co-operate with depending sidewalls 12 mounted on the conveyer frame. Each slat is secured to link chains 2 by L-shaped brackets 10. The members 4 may alternatively be disposed under the joints of the slats (on the upper run) instead of above, as shown.
