1381463 Organosilanes ZAIDAN HOJIN SAGAMI CHEMICAL RESEARCH CENTER 23 Aug 1973 [24 Aug 1972 27 Nov 1972 26 Feb 1973 9 March 1973] 40112/73 Heading C3S Substituted organosilanes of the formulae RR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP>SiOR, RR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP>SiSR, RR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP>SiNR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP> or RR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP>SiOCOR wherein R denotes an organic radical and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> denote hydrogen or organic radicals are prepared by reacting appropriate organosilicon hydrides with alcohols or phenols; mercaptans; ammonia or primary or secondary amines; or carboxylic acids, respectively, in the presence of tris-(triarylphosphine) halorhodium. The alcohol and carboxylic acid reactants may be monohydric or polyhydric and the secondary amine reactants may be cyclic secondary amines. Exemplified R, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> radicals are, methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, tert.-butyl, hexadecyl, phenyl, benzyl, para-tolyl, chloromethyl, trifluoromethyl, cyclohexyl, 2-furyl, 1-naphthyl, phenoxymethyl or jointly, ethylene and pyrrolidino.
