1381363 Corrosion preventive pigments PLUSS-STAUFER AG 21 June 1972 [9 June 1972] 28957/72 Heading C1A A calcium carbonate based corrosion preventive pigment is made by surface treating natural particulate, especially crystalline calcium carbonate with a long chain C 8-40 aliphatic amine or acid salt thereof. The treatment consists of spraying on a solution, or any other suitable process leaving a film of the amine salt which is preferably of the general formula: (in which R 1 is CH 3 -(CH 2 ) 15-17 - and R 2 is The calcium carbonate used has a preferred grain size in the range 0À1 to 20 Á.
