Abstract

Prior to beetling, piece goods composed of vegetable fires are freed from oils, fats, waxes, and resins, including unsaponifiable oils and waxes contained in sizes, by solvent treatment with benzene, benzine, naphtha, alcohol, ether, &c. The solvents may be separated from the dissolved matter by distillation.
