Abstract

1377961 Submerged arc welding flux BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd 6 April 1972 [6 April 1971] 8900/71 Heading C7M A particulate agglomerated submerged arc welding flux contains in wt per cent 5-10 fluoride, preferably CaF 2 , 25-40 carbonate preferably CaCO 3 , 15-25 Fe, 10-20 MgO, 5-22 silicate, 0-10 bauxite, 0-4.5 deoxidant preferably Fe-Si, Fe-Mn, Mn or Si-Mn. The silicate is preferably wollastonite and a sodium and/or potassium silicate binder. The flux powder is granulated with the silicate binder.
