Security container

Abstract

1375926 Theft alarms GAO GES FUR AUTOMATION UND ORGANISATION mbH 21 Feb 1972 [23 Feb 1971] 7902/72 Heading G4N [Also in Division E2] A security container has one or more than one irregularly wound feeble current conductor loops in or on a wall, a current source, and monitoring means to monitor the current so that on disruption of a loop or loops an alarm signal is activated or the contents of the container are destroyed or permanently altered. Open conductor loops may be provided adjacent to closed ones. The conductors may be embedded in plastics foil or may be evaporated or etched on to the foil, the foil being then stuck to the inner walls of the container; several sheets of foil may be stuck together, sufficiently strongly that tearing apart of the foils results in tearing of the conductors. The responses of the plastics material of the foils, the insulation of the conductors, and the material of the container to temperature and acids may also be chosen so as to result in disruption of the loops upon attempted entry using these means. The capacitance between conductors may be monitored, the foils then having conductors evaporated on both sides. The destruction means may include dyes mixed with paper glue dissolving substances, acids, gases, or mechanical destruction means; as described (Fig. 8, not shown) a spark from an ignition coil (34) ignites a propellant charge (36) which opens a partition (39) and forces dye (37) over the contents of the container through rupture points (38). A temperature monitoring device, which may include bimetallic elements, triggers the destruction means outside an allowed temperature range. A time circuit triggers the destruction means after a set interval has elapsed.
