Abstract

1375675 Syringe filter SHERWOOD MEDICAL INDUSTRIES Inc 8 Jan 1973 [15 Feb 1972] 929/73 Heading BID [Also in Division A5] A medicament injector comprises a housing 14 divided into two chambers 23a, 23b by a filter 20, and a needle 28 having an opening 34a at or adjacent one end, the needle and filter being relatively movable so that the opening can be located in either of the chambers. The filter may have a central opening closed by a seal puncturable by the needle or of a diameter substantially equal to that of the needle. The filter may be of metallic material, e.g. wire mesh, sintered powder, collinated metal. The needle is carried by a hub member 18 adjustably secured to housing 14 by cooperating ribs 30-33. The housing 14 may form a syringe barrel, be open at one end to receive a syringe barrel, or be secured to a syringe by a lever connection.
