1374365 Nitrosoureas YAMANOUCHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO Ltd 15 June 1972 [28 June 1971 27 April 1972] 28143/72 Heading C2C Novel nitrosoureas of the general formula wherein R is a hydrogen atom or nitroso group and n is 2-10, are prepared by nitrosation of an urea of the general formula Ureas of the second general formula above are prepared by reaction of an α-amino-#-lactam of an α,#-diaminoalkanoic acid of the general formula H 2 N(CH 2 ) n CH(NH 2 )COOH with #- chloroethyl isocyanate. Pharmaceutical compositions having antitumour activity comprise, as active ingredient, a nitrosourea of the first general formula above, together with a suitable carrier, and may be administered orally or parenterally.
