Abstract

1370691 Furniture joints WEST ALLOY DIECASTINGS Ltd 14 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 28762/71 Heading F2M [Also in Division E2] A tubular leg, strut, &c. 5 is mounted on the under surface of a table, drop-down flap, &c. 2 by a retaining means comprising a flange 1 attached to the table 2 and having a boss 3 within which a bush 4 is located, the bush 4 comprising an internal axial groove 6 extending from the lower end thereof about half-way therealong and opening at its inner end into a circumferentially extending relieved portion 8 having an eccentric surface 9 parallel to the bush axis and a lower perpendicular boundary shoulder 10. On insertion of leg 5 into the lower end of bush 4, a lateral projection 7 thereon is received in groove 6. When projection 7 reaches the relieved portion 8, having passed beyond shoulder 10, the leg 5 is rotated about its axis during which projection 7 is contacted by eccentric surface 9 to jam leg 5 within bush 4.
