Abstract

1366858 Oscillator circuits PLESSEY CO Ltd 23 Aug 1971 [12 Sept 1970] 43699/70 Heading H3T An oscillator comprises a logic gate 1 having at least two input terminals and including a multi-emitter transistor (Fig. 2, not shown) and a phase-shifting network 5-9 connected between an input terminal 3 and an output terminal 4 of the gate. The logic gate may be an AND, NAND, NOR or an OR gate and the network 5-9 is arranged for oscillations at the crystal resonant frequency. A control signal may be applied to a further input terminal 2 for switching the oscillator on or off. The inductance 6 provides a low resistance D.C. path between terminals 3, 4 so that feed-back gain is available in the intermediate condition between the two switched output states of gate 1. In Fig. 3 (not shown) a signal generator includes a number of oscillators 1,2...N which may be selectively switched by a channel selection switch and an output of the required frequency range is obtained via an N-input NAND gate 13.
