Abstract

1366007 Coated particles; coated wire GTE SYLVANIA INC 12 July 1972 [15 July 1971 (2)] 32665/72 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C7 and H1] Particles of Al, Be or Zr oxides are coated with W using a W resinate, and then coated with Pt or Ir or Al or Zr oxide. The tungsten resinate is heated to 500 to 550‹C to form tungsten oxide and then heated to 875‹C to reduce the oxide to W. The Pt may also be applied from a resinate. The particles may be formed into a suspension with butyl acetate and nitrocellulose and applied to an aluminium oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) coated Mo or W wire to form a heater for an electron discharge device.
