Abstract

1363424 Electric switches BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd 20 Oct 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 49803/70 Heading H1N An electric switch comprises a dolly 3 pivotally mounted in a housing and co-operating with a moving contact member which co-operates in at least one of two positions with fixed contacts, the dolly 3 carrying a separately formed rocker 7 for effecting pivotal movement of the dolly, which rocker is mounted in the housing to pivot about an axis parallel to the pivotal axis of the dolly. As shown, the housing contains two switches each with a dolly 3 which is mounted in inverted V-shaped bearings formed in a pair of pedestals 5. Concave bearing surfaces 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are mounted alongside the pedestals 5 and a pair of convex bearing surfaces 10 of each rocker 7 are mounted on surfaces 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. Each dolly has an upstanding spigot 4 which fits in a tubular stud 9 of a rocker 7. Instead of two rockers 7 a single double size rocker with a pair of studs 9 fitted to the spigots 4 of the dollies 3 may provide conjoint actuation of the switches.
