1362190 Hoists STEPHENS & CARTER Ltd 21 Oct 1971 [21 Oct 1970] 50082/70 Heading B8H [Also in Division B7] An arrangement for constraining a workman's cradle 1 close to an overhanging surface, e.g. a ships' side, comprises a wire 10 coupled to the surface by a support 12, the latter being formed such that it holds the wire without obstructing movement therealong of a sheave 6 adjustably connected to the cradle. The support 12 comprises a crooked portion having a tube 17 on the end thereof, the wire 10 running through the tube and the crook facilitating the passage of the sheave flanges past the support. The cradle 1 is movable along a depending line 4 by a winch 3 on the cradle and engageable with the line.
