Abstract

1361894 Mattresses &c AQUA THERM PRODUCTS CORP 20 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53467/72 Heading A4M A mattress, cushion or the like comprises a water filled container 10 sandwiched between foam rubber pads 40, 41, the whole sandwich being contained within a water impervious cover 20. The pads 40, 41 and container 10 are fitted into the cover 20 through slits 27, 28 which are subsequently closed by flaps 23a, 25a secured by adhesive strips 60, 62. Further flaps 29, 30 are tucked beneath the bottom pad 41. In another embodiment, Figs. 10-12 (not shown), a seat cushion has a cover with a single filling slit (91). In a further seat cushion, Fig.16, the container comprises two plastics layers 111, 112 heat sealed together around their entire periphery, layers of foam rubber 123, 124 and two layers 121, 122 heat sealed around their periphery to define the cover.
