Abstract

1354439 Two-part couplings AMP Inc 16 May 1972 [24 May 1971] 22824/72 Heading H2E A housing for an electrical connector block 4 comprises three parts, parts 1 and 2 together forming a tubular shell having a portion at 13 to receive block 4 and a portion at 22 to receive cable clamp 23 and having complementary latching means 24, (26) (Fig. 2, not shown). The forward portion of the shell is slideable into the tubular housing part 3; the mating portions of shell and housing element having complementary latching means 20, 29. As shown, the means latching parts 1 and 2 consists of rearwardlyextending arms 25 engageable behind ears (26), and that latching the shell to part 3 comprises ramps 30 and 31 engageable with keyhole slots 20 in parts 1 and 2 when the shell is slid into the housing. The shell and housing 3 are disengaged by applying pressure at points 19 on the shell, and on the side walls of the housing 3 to release the latches. Parts I and 2 are split by sliding part 2 axially rearwards of part 1. Jack screws 11 receivable in grooves 17 bolt block 4 to a complementary connector block.
