Abstract

1352487 Electro-photographic members EASTMAN KODAK CO 24 Aug 1972 [25 Aug 1971] 39431/72 Heading G2C A barrier layer between a support bearing a conductive layer and a photo-conductive layer comprises a copolymer of vinyl acetate and either vinyl pyrrolidone or an α, (3-unsaturated alkenoic acid having 3 to 6 carbon atoms in the alkene portion thereof, e.g. crotonic, 2-pentenoic, 2-hexenoic, 2-heptenoic and itaconic acids. The support may be paper, cellulose acetate, polyethylene terephthalate or polystyrene film, coated e.g. with cuprous iodide dispersed in polyvinyl formal, carbon dispersed in resin or the sodium salt of a carboxy ester lactose of a maleic anhydride-vinyl acetate copolymer. The photoconductor may be organic, types of which are listed dispersed in a binder e.g. polycarbonate.
