1352049 Cathode-ray tube displays SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [19 March 1970] 25802/71 Heading H4T [Also in Division G4] The apparatus of parent application No. 43231/69 (Specification No. 1,283,706) in which a series of measured values fed from a store 4 (Fig. 1) are displayed as a curve on the screen of a display unit 1, the oldest measured value being erased when a new measured value arrives, is modified in that, in synchronism with the feeding of the measured values to the display unit, associated additional data qualifying measured values and stored in a store 22 is fed to a control unit to modify the operation of the display unit, e.g. to cause flashing or colour change of the display of the associated measured value. The additional data may indicate for example which of two transmitters is operating. The stores 4, 22 may be plates, drums, delay line stores or shift registers. When drum stores are utilized the store 22 may comprise an additional track on the drum of store 4. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 in which an unblanking pulse is fed to the display unit 1 from a comparator 25 when the count in a counter 26 pulsed from a source 16 represents the stored data, the pulse is fed via a gate N2 which passes the signal only when no signal is present from a gate N1. Gate N1 is controlled by the additional data in store 22 and a clock source 27 so that when the data is present gate N2 is alternately enabled and disabled to cause the displayed value to flash. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown), in dependence on whether additional data is present or not one of two gates (N3, N5) is enabled to pass the comparator pulse via one of two sets of differently adjusted potentiometers (PR1, PG1, PB1; PR2, PG2, PB2) in a colour television set to vary the colour of the display.
