Abstract
1349719 Fusible cut-outs McGRAWEDISON CO 13 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 32737/71 Heading H2G An electrical device 20 comprises a yieldable annulus 26 disposed in an annular groove 24 formed in a ceramic housing 22 at each end thereof, and a cap-like terminal 28 telescoped on to each end of the housing 22 and coldformed at its free edge into the yieldable annulus 26. The housing is formed with at least one passage and as shown houses a fusible element 46 in a single passage 25. The cap-like terminals may be provided with locking ridges 31 or indentations at their free edges, may be hermetically sealed to the housing and may comprise a securing blade 32 which has a narrow end 33 soldered to both the ferrule portion 28 and the fusible element 46. Many suitable forms of yieldable annuli which may be of, for example, teflon (R.T.M.), silicon rubber, neoprene, rubber, aluminium, copper, zinc, tin or lead, are described in the Specification.
