1349048 Unsaturated ester derivatives of polyethylene glycols KAO SOAP CO Ltd 13 July 1972 [14 July 1971] 32805/72 Heading C3R Novel compounds of the formula wherein R denotes C 1-22 alkyl, aryl or aryl substituted with C 1-12 alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> denotes H or CH 3 , A denotes -(CH 2 ) m -, 1,2-phenylene or -CH=CH-, m is from 1 to 8 and n is from 4 to 50, are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula RO(CH 2 CH 2 O) n CO-A-COOH with a compound of the formula at a temperature of from 40‹ to 150‹ C. preferably in the presence of an aqueous alkaline catalyst. An example describes the preparation of and of intermediate Uses.-Antistatic agents.
