Abstract

1348967 Liquid level control ALFA LAVAL AB 15 Nov 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 52693/72 Heading G1H [Also in Divisions G3 and H1] In a liquid handling plant, such as for use with milking machines, milk delivered to a container 1, via a pipe 2, connected to a milk pump via an outlet 3, fluctuates in level to move a float 4 to lift a rubber body 12 from a valve seat, against a vacuum in a pipe line 10, to place chamber 18 under vacuum via a pipeline 11 in turn to permit a second diaphragm 17, of greater surface area than the diaphragm 16, to be subject to a pressure so that the diaphragm 16 is moved towards a spring loaded switch 28 to operate the switch 28 to start the milk pump. The change over of the pressure responsive devices is delayed by restrictions 13, 14 in the valve 6 and restrictions 20 in the pipeline 11 and the opening 24 to chamber 23.
