Abstract

1343342 Valves MACLAREN CONTROLS Ltd 16 Sept 1971 43307/71 Heading F2V In a valve having two closure members 6, 12 co-operating with two concentric seats 45, a downward thrust on spring-loaded valve stem 7 causes both closure members 6, 12 to move off their seats if electromagnet 18 is energized to couple coaxial stems 16, 13. On current failure the electromagnet releases armature 15 to allow closure 12 to seat under the action of spring 20. Actuation of stem 7 may be by hydraulic motor or solenoid. Other embodiments having hinged valve member and gate valve members are described.
