Abstract

1341061 Seaming non-metallic sheet material ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 May 1971 [27 June 1970] 17438/71 Addition to 1339493 Heading B5K An assembly comprises a pair of components 10, 18 of thermoplastic plastics material, one component 18 having a grooved surface 13 interengageable with a ribbed surface 15 on the component 10 to form a closed channel for receiving an injection moulding composition 16 for forming a fluid-tight seal, the ribbed surface of the component 10 being a channel 11 whose sides project as lip-shaped flanges 15 which, when engaged with the component 18, project into the groove 13 therein and are splayed apart by a wedge-like hump 14 extending substantially parallel to the side walls 12 of the groove 13, which side walls 12 have at their free ends thickenings 19 which extend into the groove 13, the flanges 15 being pressed on to the inner surfaces of the walls 12 by the injection of the sealing and welding composition 16. The thickenings 19 are curved at 20 and bevelled at 21. The components 10, 18 comprise a housing and a cover, respectively, of an accumulator.
