Abstract
1338676 Selective printing HONEYWELL INFORMATION SYSTEMS ITALIA SpA 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 26534/71 Heading B6F An on-the-fly printer includes type members such as 30, Fig. 10a which are impelled by print hammers such as 31 at an oblique angle to a paper-supporting platen (not shown) so that a type member when impelled towards the platen has a component of velocity V 1 t, Fig. 5, equal and opposite to the velocity of the type carrier with respect to the platen. The type members may be mounted on a type carrier in the form of a band, bar, chain or wheel. The type members may be struck obliquely as shown in Fig. 10a, or may be mounted on rectangular-section fingers whose major axis xx, Fig. 5 of section is oblique to the plane of movement of the type carrier and struck normally as at I<SP>1</SP>. A type band may be formed of a belt with integral projecting fingers, each twisted near the junction of the finger with the belt (Fig. 11, not shown).
